Great read! Easy on the inagination. Discription of the characters is precise and colorful. Holds your attention as the plot develops into unknown areas of intrigue. Intellectual detail is uncanny. Never a dull moment.
This is a great surprise for readers who love suspense, mystery. So hard to put down; many nights i had to force myself to put it away so i could get some sleep! Michael Vallone does a fantastic job with this book full of twists and turns. He is definitely on his way to author stardom. Can't wait for Episode 2 to be published!
I enjoyed reading this book! The characters were fun and easy to get along with. It was exciting and fast paced. Very well written. Not 5 stars because in a few places the medical jargon left me a little glassy eyed. Exciting new series. I will buy the next installation. I would recommend. gbash
This book was difficult to put down. I really enjoyed it. I finished it no time because I could not put the book down. Right from page one I was hooked. I loved the character Vicki. You could tell she was human with doubts and fears. I love how she is a female character that is brilliant. Very fast passed thriller. I am glad I won this book in the Goodread giveaways. I just wish book two will hurry up and come out because I do not like cliff hangers. I like knowing.

I REALLY wanted to like this book and was disappointed that I simply did not. The first thing I had difficulty with was the use of the present tense. Everything is happening right now. Main characters are walking across the room rather than allowing me the separation of reading this as something that has happened, "walked across the room". It's an important distinction because the book takes on the feel of reading a script rather than the retelling of an enjoyable story. I was willing to finish this book, even trying to adjust to this uncomfortable writing style because I hoped to find something wonderful here. Just now I was suddenly "confronted" by a particularly graphic piece in the book, and was so stunned by it's inclusion that I lost all possible interest in continuing on.

There are scenes of violence in books that are significant to a story and help it move on--a necessary evil I suppose. Then there are scenes of what feels like gratuitous violence, allowing us a glimpse into the psyche of the author that perhaps we would rather not have seen. For me, SciFi is a genre that rarely merits inclusion of sexual violence. It's really just not my thing. This book may be exceptional from this point on, but with 36 chapters spread out over a mere 117 pages, the odd use of tense that the author chose to use and the inclusion of this particular act of violence, I can say that I've had enough.
